Tars Don't Discriminate

In 2018, right before I graduated college, a professor told me and my then-girlfriend/now-wife that an Evangelical Christian group, CRU, was attempting to colonize the Rollins College campus. Specifically, they wanted a carve-out to the nondiscrimination policy to allow them to discriminate against LGBTQ+ students who wanted to fully participate in their club. In response, we began #TarsDontDiscriminate. As part of this initiative, we organized an email campaign with over 285 emails being sent to the president. We also organized a protest and wrote several op-eds. After a ten-month fight, the president announced that the nondiscrimination policy would remain intact and fully protective of LGBTQ+ students, and any group that came to campus would have to abide by and agree to that policy in full.
